We're celebrating Wisconsin wine on this Discover Wisconsin program! We will highlight the various wines made right here in Wisconsin and showcase this great agricultural product. We will see which wineries grow their own grapes – a hardier variety than those grown in California and other states. And which wineries make wine from fruit grown right here in our own backyard. We will look at the various varieties of wine made here and the harvesting of grapes. We’ll do some wine tasting and see how Wisconsin wines complement food. Most wineries have tours and special events, and we will provide information on how to plan your own winery visit. And we’ll look back on the historical aspect of winemaking in Wisconsin, with a nod to the future and what is new in winemaking in the state. |
