      Chihuly Venetians is a stunning presentation of 47 vessels, 12 drawings, and 1 “chandelier” in the Venetian style from the George R. Stroemple Collection. Active since the 1960s, Dale Chihuly is widely regarded as the most innovative glass artist working today. Featured in the exhibition are works from Chihuly’s Venetians series, which are intricately informed and brilliantly colored glassworks inspired by Art Deco Venetian glass from the 1920s and 1930s. Included in the exhibition is a magnificent 5-part chandelier composed of more than 1500 pieces of glass. A number of Chihuly’s drawings will also be on view, which serve as independent works of art and “blueprints” bring his designs to life.

      Walk along the garden pathways and view the suns created by local artisans as you enjoy the beautiful surroundings in the Gardens. Now in its fourth year, this fundraising project encourages community participation at the Gardens, promotes local artists and raises funds for support and development of the Gardens. Artists of all skill levels are encouraged to artistically interpret a sun design created from plywood by Rotary Botanical Gardens volunteers. There are 36 suns in all, which will be displayed throughout the Gardens from Mother's Day through Labor Day. Local artists and enthusiastic people of all skill levels are encouraged to artistically interpret a sun design, created and cut-out from plywood by RBG volunteers. When the suns have been completed by artists and returned, RBG staff will position and install the finished pieces throughout the Gardens where they will be displayed from Mother’s Day to Labor Day for all visitors to enjoy. The 36 suns will be on display throughout the gardens from May 12 through September 6. Visitors will have the opportunity to vote on the best sun for the People’s Choice Award. The Sun Garden Art Auction and winner of People’s Choice Award will be announced on September 15.
