The Black River Falls and Tomah areas both offer an endless array of outdoor recreation and attractions for visitors throughout the year. As we get out and play, we’ll be scuba diving on Wazee Lake, playing at Lunda Community Park, and simply traveling the many trails throughout the Black River Falls area. As we head to Tomah, we’ll pack the golf clubs, bikes, and kayaks to explore even more outdoor adventures. We’ll also visit the Necedah National Wildlife Refuge to find out what it really means to be immersed in Mother Nature. It’s an outdoors enthusiast’s dream come true as we discover Black River Falls and Tomah.

    The 200 acre body of water is the jewel of Tomah's outdoor facilities. Located off Butts Avenue and Parkview Drive on our west side, it's the perfect spot for boating, water-skiing and fishing. Two city parks, Winnebago and Lake Tomah, line its shores, with public docking facilities at each park.

  • Necedah National Wildlife Refuge

    Nestled in central Wisconsin is a landscape that was epitomized by early homesteaders as the Great Wisconsin Swamp. A mosaic habitat of sedge meadow, savanna, and pine-oak forest established in 1939 the area is an island of refuge—home to ringed boghaunter dragonflies, whooping cranes, trumpeter swans, wolves, Karner blue butterflies, badgers, and red-headed woodpeckers.

    Located off Buts Avenue and Parkview Drive on our west side, Lake Tomah is the perfect spot for boating, water-skiing and fishing. Two city parks, Winneb and Lake Tomah, line its shores with public docking facilities at each park. Sunsets over Lake Tomah are a sight to behold. Some of the fish you will find in Lake Tomah are Northern, Bluegills, Perch, Crappies, Sunfish, Bass and Bullheads.
